31 December 2015

I've only gone and done it! A whole year of pictures. Many of them aren't exactly great, but I'm proud of a few. It's a great discipline and exercise photographically speaking, but I have found it harder this time than in 2013. Back then I did it all on my phone (via Instagram) and that was much more simple.
I'm glad I kept going though, and know I - and others - will enjoy the photo books which result.
I think it'll be a good few years before I attempt another 365: If you see me mention considering it, please give me a slap and tell me not to be so silly.
Next year I shall be happy to get back to just shooting for the fun of it, rather than because I 'need' a shot every day.

My final shot of the year is of The Watermill Theatre in Newbury, where we went this afternoon, to see 'Alice in Wonderland' - presented in their own special way. Never before have I been a dancing lobster - there's a first time for everything!

Thank you to everyone who has commented on, liked, or just viewed my daily pictures this year. I wish you a Happy New Year and peace, love, good health and laughter in 2016. ♥ xx

Storm Frank is blowing a gale out there, and we're only on the very southern end of him.

Stay safe, folks.

29 December 2015

Today I have tackled mostly domestic chores, including a mountain of ironing; but also watched 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' (I think I need to see it again to even begin to understand what was happening).
I thought I might photograph my Christmas narcissi for my photo of today, but my glamorous assistant decided she wanted to be in the shot too.

Oh and this image was almost entirely edited in Lightroom. Thank you to my photographer friend  Maddy Rogers for the personal tutorial (check out her work HERE ) So many photographers I know swear by the editorial powers of Lightroom, but it scares me. Perhaps a goal for the new year will be to finally learn my way around editing via Lightroom?!

We had sunshine! I accompanied Tracey over to Lockinge to show her the lake behind the church.
This is looking back the way we'd already walked.

Thanks for driving, T x

A quiet day was what we needed, and a quiet day is what we're having.

Lilac tulip from the bunch on the kitchen windowsill.

26 December 2015

Although those not present were missed, we still managed to have a bonkers Boxing Day.
Thanks to J & B for having us all at their place.

 I do <3 my family.

25 December 2015

Table decoration from our Christmas dinner earlier today.
We had a lovely meal cooked by my mum - thanks Mum! xx

I hope everyone seeing this has had a lovely peaceful day. x

24 December 2015

The wrapping is finished!
Now to clean and tidy. I'm sure my children will help me.

They wouldn't want me to confiscate the router until it's done, would they? ;)

22 December 2015

More damp raininess in these parts, and I've been as busy as a busy thing,
so have some rather unexciting lichen on a fence post.

20 December 2015

20 December 2015

This afternoon I went round to Tracey's for a gorgeous cream tea type afternoon. I have eaten enough to last me until at least Christmas Day! Whilst there, I practised some Lensbaby creative aperture shots on her Christmas tree. I really need to use my Lensbaby more, as I love what it can do.

Thanks for a lovely afternoon, T! xx

19 December 2015

19 December 2015

My third attempt at getting a shot of the Christmas lights in town. I wondered about getting some light trails too, but hadn't thought about what would happen if a huge bus went past.

It's weird, but I kind of like it.

18 December 2015

18 December 2015

A busy day with domestic duties, haircut(s), present-wrapping, and picking up parcels. So I'm afraid it's kitchen windowsill fodder for today. I've had these roses there cheering me up this week.

Now both the kids have finished at school and college, we can get on with Christmas.

17 December 2015

A quick grab shot taken this afternoon of some drippy berries.

December has felt very grey and drippy indeed.

16 December 2015

16 December 2015

Today I took a few photos for Amanda, who wanted some shots of people enjoying books and reading.

It was lovely to try to do something completely different.

15 December 2015

15 December 2015

I'm busy baking for this evening's Christmas meeting at Camera Club.

13 December 2015

Nature had decorated several trees and shrubs we saw this morning.

Thanks for driving, T x

12 December 2015

Best laid plans and all that ... I decided I'd like a shot of the town centre with all the beautiful lights up. However, apparently there is a 'loose connection' and rain got in to the canopy of lights on Friday evening, making them all go out. So I took this much less pretty shot of the church end of town instead.

The Swan is looking particularly festive.

11 December 2015

11 December 2015

Had a call to go and pick up a green-faced, pukey-feeling boy from school this morning, so I'm afraid it's an indoors shot from me today: A bit of floral sunshine on the kitchen windowsill.

*Just to clarify, the boy in question is the one who lives here.
I don't go picking up anyone else's green-faced, pukey-feeling boys.

10 December 2015

Another lovely Crimbo shopping outing with Carol today. This time we made sure we saw it snow at the Outlet Centre! I lost my TK Maxx virginity too.

Thanks for driving, C xx

9 December 2015

9 December 2015

Beautiful weather today for my get together with Finola to compare Programme Secretary 'doings',
take some photos and have a spot of lunch.

Thanks for driving F, I had a lovely time. xx

8 December 2015

8 December 2015

Not taken in the dark, but just a usefully black building behind these decorations.

7 December 2015

7 December 2015

Still feeling ropey, so today's shot is very simple.

A tiny window in a church wall.

5 December 2015

5 December 2015

A shot taken in a location no more exciting than in the garden. I am still in my pyjamas and feeling, quite frankly, crubbish. We're a sharing, caring family; to the extent that the boy kindly shared his germs with me.

Meh.

4 December 2015

I'm late uploading yesterday's picture, because I had an unexpectedly late night last night. I took this one whilst wandering with Lou through Dickensian Evening in town yesterday evening.

People are encouraged to get dressed in Dickensian type costumes, but it seems not as many do as they used to.
This lady wore a huge red crinoline dress.

3 December 2015

Pink anemones, in December, in the 'reduced' bucket at Waitrose?

It would have been rude not to.

2 December 2015

2 December 2015

It clouded over this afternoon, but this morning we had a bit more sunshine.

So these are sunshiney berries.

1 December 2015

1 December 2015

It's actually not raining (yet) today, so I briefly abandoned the snot-filled teenager in my care,
and grabbed a shot or two of a nice view.
