30 November 2015

As the days get shorter and darker, it's getting tougher to find a picture every day. Today, I needed to call in at the Owen-Jones residence, so whilst I was there, I decided to peek into the Polecat Pottery to see what was going on. Mark had been working on this lovely pot, so I snapped that.

Is anyone else watching 'The Great Pottery Throw Down' on BBC2 on Tuesday evenings? Seeing the lovely things in the Polecat Pottery and that programme both make me want to 'have a go'.

Storm Clodagh in a picture.

She is currently doing her thing with gusto out there.

27 November 2015

Autumn is definitely on the way out, but there are a few lovely colourful leaves left.

26 November 2015

It's raining again, and I'm having a day of domestic chores, shopping etc. So you've got a shot of my current knitting WIP: A scarf which will be a gift at the 'C' event next month.

24 November 2015

I've spent today sitting in my figurative editing cave. Edit, edit, edit, edit.
So, here's part of a pretty chrysanthemum on the kitchen windowsill.

23 November 2015

A beautiful morning here, I wish I'd taken this shot an hour or two earlier as the sky was stunning.

It feels like the switch from autumn to winter - very cold and frosty.

22 November 2015

Too tired and busy to head out to find a decent shot today; so here's my boxing medal.
Only my third sporting recognition, the others being from many years ago for swimming and judo.

I should perhaps point out that I got it for photographing boxing, not for actually boxing!

21 November 2015

Raf, ring girls and the ref. Today's photo was taken last night at an evening of Boxing at Shush and I've been editing like a mad woman all day.

Lou and I will be back there this evening for another bout or ten.

That warm fuzzy feeling you get when decent trainers that have been missing at school for six weeks suddenly turn up in the PE room.

19 November 2015

I've had quite a sociable day today. I could have photographed Hugo the pheasant, gingerbread men, Belgian buns, or any of the people with whom I chatted (and chuckled). But no, I didn't have a camera to hand; so instead you've got a rose from a vase on the kitchen windowsill.

C'est la vie.

18 November 2015

Storm Barney is still blowing a gale out there, but at least he's stopped chucking it down.

17 November 2015

'Wet & Windy' doesn't really convey exactly how wet, nor how windy today has been. It's on days like today that I wish I wasn't having to find a shot every day.

Sorry, but it's just one of a window.

16 November 2015

Today, Carol introduced me to the delights of the Swindon Designer Outlet Centre. I actually bought a few things for the 'C' event next month. :O

Thanks for the lift, Carol :) xx

15 November 2015

You wouldn't think it to look outside now, but we actually had some sunshine this morning.

14 November 2015

After the hideous events of yesterday evening in Paris, which themselves come on the tail of other terrorist attacks - in Beirut a week or so ago, and the bomb on the Russian airliner two weeks' ago - today has very much felt like a day to pull up the drawbridge and embrace some quiet home time. So that's what we've done, especially Georgie, who seems rather good at it.

Wishing peace for all those affected by terror and violence. x

13 November 2015

The weather doesn't know if it's Arthur or Martha today: wind, rain, sun, wind, drizzle, pouring down, wind, sunshine, wind, more rain, more wind ... and now bright blue sky and sunny again.

12 November 2015

S'nice out there this morning.

Shot taken at what we affectionatly call "Peter K's 'Safari Park'" after taking the daughter to the doctors.

I'm glad I pushed her to go - suspected glandular fever. :-(

A Windowsill Wednesday shot (I used to be in a group at Flickr which posted shots of various items on the windowsill on a Wednesday every week).

These autumnal chrysanthemums are on the kitchen windowsill this week.

10 November 2015

Today, the kids and I went here to join with many others in our community in saying goodbye to Dylan. His family (and Father John) fashioned a hugely moving and personal service: I got through several tissues. My love, thoughts, and best wishes go to those closest to him, especially N, M, D and J.

Rest in Peace, young man.

9 November 2015

It was a lovely surprise to see this borage plant pop up and begin to flower over the last few days.

I shook some wild flower seeds on this patch of ground earlier this year, and presume that's how it got there.

8 November 2015

8 November 2015

Had a lovely wander around Little Wittenham with Tracey this afternoon.
The sky wasn't particuarly photogenic, so this was about the best I got.

Taken at Day's Lock.
Thanks for driving, T x

7 November 2015

7 November 2015

When I went into town last Wednesday evening with Lou and T, the powers that be had begun to put up the Christmas lights in town. I thought today I would take a photo and moan about the phenomenon of Christmas lights in November ... but they've switched them off now. They're still there, they're just off.

So you've got an ordinary shot of the town centre at around 6.20pm this evening instead.

6 November 2015

6 November 2015

I spent a pleasant hour and a half in the company of Paul, Din and Jac(2) as we attempted to get some firework shots this evening.

I must be getting old, because I'm sure when I was younger, these displays lasted a lot longer.

5 November 2015

The warm weather in October means there are still roses blooming,

but this one was looking a bit soggy and sad today.

2 November 2015

When the kids were little, I loved the autumn days of putting on wellies and going out to kick up the fallen leaves.

Didn't have the nerve to do it by myself today though.
